Try New Technology

So far so good running Linux Mint on my old workstation. I have all my applications running on it except for HLSW which doesn’t have a Linux port and trying to install it via Wine-Doors or PlayOnLinux gives some random functionality so I just have up on it for now (though I’ll keep working at it!). Also dealing with a few bugs with a Linux based screen saver I love, but I’m sure that’s just mostly me being a N00B at this Linux Desktop stuff. Though my biggest disappointment – though it was very much expected – was that I can’t get most of my Windows based games to play on my Linux machine (yeah, yeah they aren’t for work, but why not load then and try it out!)…though Team Fortress 2, Portal, and Half-Life 2 all are ready for install according to my PlayOnLinux app.

Anyways just a few things left to iron out then the apps I must have and can’t port will just have to run from inside of a VirtualBox of Windows Vista.
